The Irish Continental Group (ICG) has entered into an agreement for the purchase of the Ro-Pax ferry Ciudad de Mahon from Trasmed GLE, a Spanish subsidiary of the Grimaldi Group.

The delivery of the vessel to its new owners is scheduled for January 2022. It will serve the Dover-Calais route operated by Irish Ferries after drydocking and branding changes.

The 2000-built Ciudad de Mahon has capacity for 589 passengers and up to 91 freight units.
