Kazakh offshore operator takes delivery of ice-class tug

Kazakhstan-based Caspian Offshore Construction has taken delivery of a new shallow-draught ice-class tug from Turkey’s Gelibolu Shipyard.

Named Caspian Fauna, the newbuild has an LOA of 30 metres, a beam of 11 metres, a draught of 1.8 metres, accommodation for up to 10 people, and two 970kW main engines that deliver a bollard pull of 25 tonnes.

The tug will be used for coastal towing and anchor handling work in the Caspian Sea.
