Danish shipping line DFDS has entered into an agreement to acquire FRS Iberia/Maroc, a Spanish division of German short-sea ferry company FRS.

The acquisition of FRS Iberia/Maroc expands DFDS’ Mediterranean route network through the addition of three short-sea ferry routes across the Strait of Gibraltar connecting Spain and Morocco. The routes are currently served by seven vessels with an average age of 23 years.

FRS Iberia/Maroc will contribute to both the freight ferry and passenger segments in DFDS’ Ferry Division.
