Caspian Offshore Construction of Kazakhstan recently took delivery of a new shallow-draught workboat from the Damen Shipyards Group.

Caspian Amwaj will be deployed primarily in the Arabian Gulf. Its duties will include anchor handling, buoy maintenance, towing, and other general support tasks for clients in the offshore oil and gas industry.

The vessel is also equipped for dredging in shallower waters.

The 38-metre newbuild has space for 11 crewmembers, an aft deck with an area of 185 square metres, and four main engines that deliver a bollard pull of 18.6 tonnes.

Caspian Amwaj was built for stock at Albwardy Damen in the UAE.
