The Cameroon Navy is set to purchase two 33-metre patrol boats from the United States before the end of this year, the US Embassy to Cameroon said in a statement.

The US government will help facilitate the vessel acquisition as part of its commitment to the G7++ Friends of Gulf of Guinea international maritime security cooperation agreement that it signed in 2013 along with the governments of West and Central African countries.

The patrol boats will be used on operations within the waters of Cameroon’s economic exclusion zone.
