Bermuda ferry re-enters service following refit

A ferry operated by the Bermuda Ministry of Transport has re-entered service after undergoing refitting at the facilities of Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding in the United States.

The 250-passenger Resolute was originally delivered by Gladding-Hearn in 2002. Modifications included replacement of the twin 956hp (712kW) MTU engines with more powerful 1,205hp (898kW) engines, installation of new ZF gearboxes and a Northern Lights 40kW generator, and refurbishing of the main and upper passenger cabins.

Sister vessel Serenity is undergoing a similar upgrade program at Gladding-Hearn and is scheduled to rejoin the fleet in March 2022.
