FOI documents reveal $680 million overspend on Australian OPVs

A document released to Australian Senator Rex Patrick under freedom of information laws shows the Federal Government paid AU$870 million (US$680 million) above the price offered by German shipbuilder Lürssen to build 12 offshore patrol vessels (OPVs) for the Royal Australian Navy.

Aremiti orders 49-metre high-speed catamaran

French Polynesian commercial ferry operator Aremiti has awarded a AU$30 million (US$23.4 million) contract to Austal to design and build a new 49-metre high-speed passenger catamaran ferry.
