Trial service begins for new Derwent River ferry

A new commuter ferry slated for the Derwent River in Hobart began trial sailings on Monday, July 19.

The catamaran vessel has capacity for 107 passengers and storage for 15 bicycles. It will be operated by local company Roche Brothers, which also manages the Navigators Mona ferries.

The trial service will be free to commuters who have a Metro Tasmania Greencard or are travelling with a bicycle.
