Technology company KBR has been selected as the industry partner to deliver a sovereign sustainment capability to the Royal Australian's Navy's (RAN) Amphibious and Replenishment Ship fleet.

KBR said this is one of the first Capability Life Cycle Management (CLCM) sustainment programs to include multiple asset classes, namely, the landing helicopter docks HMAS Adelaide and HMAS Canberra, the landing ship dock HMAS Choules, and the auxiliary oiler replenishment ships HMAS Supply and Stalwart.

For over two decades, KBR has provided the RAN with strategic asset management planning, engineering design effort, and supply chain optimisation to support the fleet.

The recent contract award ensures complete lifecycle sustainment for the RAN's Amphibious and Replenishment ships over five years.

Personnel will be based at Fleet Base East at Garden Island Defence Precinct in Sydney to support the stewardship of these aforementioned RAN vessels. The team will be supported by other companies including Babcock Australasia, Atlantic and Peninsula, and the Goal Group.
