Navantia launches Royal Australian Navy oiler HMAS Supply

Spanish shipbuilder Navantia launched HMAS Supply, the first of two auxiliary oiler replenishment (AOR) vessels being built for the Royal Australian Navy, on Friday, November 23.

Supply and the yet-unnamed second AOR are based on the Spanish Navy’s Cantabria-class oilers but will be tailored to fulfil specific Australian standards and requirements.

Navantia has also signed an agreement with the Commonwealth of Australia for the maintenance of the two AORs for a period of five years.
