Dredging works at NSW’s Wallis Lake to be completed by December 2023

NSW Maritime has agreed to provide funds to extend the scope of the planned dredging on Point Road to include further dredging between Point Road and Miles Island.

The dredging aims to improve vessel access to the river system, ensuring safe navigation for tourism and aquaculture operations.

The project is set to be completed in time for the Christmas school holiday period of 2023.

The dredging works will help address the issue of sand shoaling in the Wallis Lake estuary. Unless resolved, the sand shoaling can adversely affect navigation near the entrance to the lake.
