Boat ramp resurfacing works set to start at Rosslyn Bay Boat Harbour

Published on:

Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ) is commencing maintenance works to resurface the lower section of the Rosslyn Bay (Breakwater Drive) boat ramp.

MSQ said the upgrade will involve the replacement of more than 100 concrete ramp planks to improve safety and functionality for all users.

Onsite works are scheduled to begin on Monday, July 7, and are expected to take approximately two months to complete, weather and site conditions permitting.

To complete the upgrade safely and efficiently, temporary closures of the ramp will be required.

Between July 7 and 13, there will be partial access with two lanes open, and the floating walkway will not be accessible during this period. From July 14, MSQ will implement a full closure of the boat ramp and the floating walkway for the remainder of the construction period.

Access to the water will be maintained via the adjacent Rosslyn Bay (Anchor Drive) boat ramp, including its floating walkway and pontoon.

MSQ has scheduled the work during the quieter winter months to minimise disruption, aiming for completion ahead of the busy September school holidays.

MSQ said that, once completed, the resurfacing will, "improve safety, extend the life of the facility, and deliver a better launching and retrieval experience for the boating community."
