An Australian business that provides seafood supply chains with eco-friendly packaging, Planet Protector Packaging, has received an award for their "Lobster Protector Solution".
Taking home the gold medal award in the Food Design of the Year category at the 2020 Australasian Packaging and Innovation Design (PIDA) Awards, the Lobster Protector Solution uses sheep waste wool and has been ranked as better performing than polystyrene, a single use plastic and common ocean pollutant.
"The Lobster Protector Solution was truly a team effort between multiple members of our organisation and key industry partners who worked with us through a variety of design prototypes to create a revolutionary, first of its kind, plastic free seafood transport offering," said Founder and CEO Joanne Howarth.
