Australian firms to collaborate on manufacture of new rigid inflatable boats

Baird Maritime

Ribcraft Australia, the official Australian branch of British manufacturer Ribcraft, has partnered with Edencraft International to begin local manufacturing of its high-performance rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) in Geelong, Victoria.

This collaboration marks Ribcraft's entry into Australian production, delivering vessels for defence, government, and commercial organisations.

Some of the key benefits of the partnership between Ribcraft and Edencraft International are the following:

  • Compliance with Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) NSCV standards

  • Enhanced maritime supply chain for defence, search and rescue (SAR), and law enforcement

  • Export potential to the Asia-Pacific region

  • Sustainability and innovation in R&D, integrating new designs, advanced materials, and propulsion systems to meet future maritime needs

  • Development of uncrewed RIBs for next-generation maritime operations and improved human safety

The Edencraft facility in Moolap, Geelong, Victoria, will serve as the hub for producing custom-built Ribcraft RIBs that meet AMSA NSCV standards.

Edencraft International has invested in advanced technology, including a robotic five-axis automated machining centre specialising in plug and mould making. This advanced facility ensures complete composite capabilities and fabrication in just one facility.
