Global Marine Design and Redline Marine deliver multi-purpose workboat to Australian port services company

Baird Maritime

Australia's Whyalla Launch Services has taken delivery of a new 7.8- by 3.1- crew boat, built by Redline Marine from a kit designed and supplied by Global Marine Design.

She will be used for crew transfer and vessel resupply services for Whyalla Port and the surrounding area.

Under NSCV 2C survey, the vessel is capable of transferring four passengers or an equivalent weight in deck cargo. The owner wanted a smaller and more mobile vessel to open up opportunities for the operator up and down the coastline.

The aluminium monohull measures in at 7.8 metres (9.65 metres overall) with a moulded beam of 3.1 metres.

Two Yamaha 225-kilowatt outboards propel the vessel to a sprint speed of 42 knots.

Whyalla Launch Services provides marine services in the Upper Spencer Gulf Ports including Whyalla, Port Pirie, Port Bonython, and trans-shipping areas.
