The author must have had a wonderful time roaming around the Mediterranean, mostly by ferry, photographing the current fleet of ferries in that busy sea.
Having seen many of those ferries himself, your reviewer appreciates the enormity of the author's task. There are a lot offerries and a lot of ferry companies. They operate practically throughout the Mediterranean region.
As in most busy ferry regions the vessels in the Mediterranean cover the whole gamut of modern ferries. Large, small, cruisy, fast, slow, car-carrying and not. It is an interesting, largely seasonal, business that confronts substantial competition now from cheap airlines.
The author has produced fleet lists of all the significant companies. That is an impressive effort on its own. However, he has also provided pictures of a vast number of the vessels listed. They are uniformly clear.
An idiosyncratic but delightful and useful record.
