From Baird Maritime:
The beautiful old Vietnamese Imperial Capital city of Hue on the Perfume River, about halfway along the Vietnamese east coast was the scene of one of the most important battles of the Vietnam War. Important but probably not decisive.
Most of the American involvement concerned the Marines, so it was basically an amphibious assault. Landing craft brought the marines and their equipment effectively to the centre of the city.
In this case the North Vietnamese Army was defeated but only after the ARVN (the South Vietnamese Army) suffered major casualties. Much of the city was destroyed or badly damaged and large numbers of civilians were maimed or killed.
Very well and comprehensively illustrated and clearly described.
