Active as ever in the realm of keel-building, Tuscan-based Vincenzo Catarsi has been brought back to prominence in recent years. His 'Calafuria' keels, first introduced in the market thirty-four years ago, were rethought and unveiled in their modern form at Genoa International Boat Show back in 2006.
The professional fishing boat version, also suitable for cargo units, was subsequently unveiled at Ancona Fishing Exhibition in 2007, its 8.7 metres long and 3.05 metres wide.
Meanwhile, projects addressed to larger vessels have been developed, and a few units were delivered in 2009. Among those, of particular relevance were 15.5-metre 'Cianciolo, 10.8-metre 'Furibondo' and 12-metre 'Superfuribondo'.
Catarsi is currently in the process of building two fishing motorboats: 14 metre by 4.2 metres and 16 metres by 5.3 metres respectively. The former will be named 'Super Huragano', while the latter, 'Meloria', will be used for trawling.
