Brunswick delivers Florida conservation RHIB

Baird Maritime

Brunswick Commercial and Government Products has delivered a 1200 Impact rigid hull inflatable boat (RHIB) to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC)'s law-enforcement division. The boat will be stationed in South Florida where it will be used for patrolling offshore and intracoastal areas, fisheries management, and general law-enforcement activities.

"The boat's features make it a valuable asset for search and rescue missions and enforcing federal fisheries regulations," said Colonel Jim Brown of the FWC. "The FWC officers assigned to it will work the entire south-east coast. They will focus on protecting Florida's valuable natural resources in sensitive marine areas such as Oculina Bank and the St Lucie Hump Marine Protected Area."

The 1200 Impact model has a length overall of 11.95 metres, a beam of 3.0 metres and a draught of 0.56 metres, weighing 3,855 kilograms. The vessel features a climate controlled aluminium cabin and room for up to four crew members. The heavy-duty fibreglass hull is surrounded by an air-filled collar to reduce the risk of damage to the boat and property during routine boat checks and docking.
