UAE-based marine services provider CCC Underwater Engineering (CCCUWE) has placed an order for two work-class remotely operated vehicles (WROVs) in a series from Forum Energy Technologies (FET).
Kevin Taylor, Vice President Operations for Subsea Technologies at FET, said the WROVs will be capable of operating in harsh subsea environments.
The WROVs will be deployed aboard Wadad Aletheia, CCCUWE's recently delivered DP3 dive support and construction vessel (DSCV). Each will have a maximum operating depth of 3,000 metres.
The craft will be used for construction, drill support, pipeline and platform inspection, survey, salvage and cleaning services.
"With acquisition of Wadad Aletheia, it was important to ensure the vessel has the right WROV systems, capable of working down to a depth of 3,000 metres, in line with the vessel’s maximum working depth," said Tavis Letherby, CCCUW's ROV/Survey Manager. "The purchase of the systems, will complement the DSCV, ensuring its full potential for subsea operations."
The ROVs are being manufactured at FET's UK facilities in Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire. The first of the two ROVs will be delivered in November 2025, while the second is scheduled for delivery in June 2026.
