Vard has delivered a 7,000m3, fully pressurised LPG carrier to Petrobras, Brazil.
Brazilian shipbuilding has been hit by the combined effects of a downturn in oil prices and the corruption scandal involving the state-owned company, Petrobras. Meanwhile, Vard's new shipyard in Brazil, Vard Promar has delivered its first vessel, 'Barbosa Lima Sobrinho'.
The vessel is the second of a series of LPG carrier newbuilds for the state-owned company, and the first to be fully constructed in Brazil.
The Fincantieri-owned company has a total of 29 newbuilds in its order book, eight of which are to be built in the group's two shipyards in Brazil.
