An oil tanker has burst into flames after colliding with a containership off the Dubai coast.
According to a BBC report, the accident happened around 12.35am local time in a shipping channel near the Jebel Ali Port.
Police boats and helicopters were sent to douse the tanker with water, which was carrying over 30,000 tonnes of oil condensates en route from Iran to the UAE. There have been no casualties and the fire has been put out.
Details of the cause of the collision and the damage to the vessels are not yet available. The containership has been identified as the 'Sima Siba' but its cargo contents are not yet known.
