New coastal tanker for Rimorchiatori Laziali

Rimorchiatori Laziali, an Italian shipowner based in Civitavecchia, has taken delivery of the tanker 'Magic Duba', construction number C 40/08, from Cantieri Navali di Chioggia, built under RINA supervision.

Designed by Studio Tecnico Bortolato, 'Magic Duba' is a modular unit with a capacity of either 1,200, 1,600 or 2,000 cubic metres, and can carry petroleum products with a flashpoint higher than 60°C.

As per MARPOL regulations, the vessel is double hulled and the 10 cargo tanks are double segregated. Two azimuth-type Schottel propellers guarantee a stable laden speed. For manoeuvrability, a bow thruster was installed to cater for lower speeds.

She is intended for coastal navigation, up to a maximum of 10 kilometres off the coast, and boasts RINA C Malta Cross, Oil Tanker (flash point higher than 60 °C), ESP; AUT-UMS, Clean Sea, Clean Air status.

She is 49.90 metres long, her maximum breadth is 14.00 metres, her moulded depth 5.00 metres and maximum draught 4.1 metres.

Engines are a pair of MAN D2842 LE 403s, capable of developing a speed of up to 9.5 knots.
