German Tanker Shipping (GTS) has refused to accept the delivery of the 43,550DWT double-hull tanker 'Seapike' from Lindenau Shipyard, claiming that the vessel is structurally inadequate.
The vessel was scheduled for delivery on June 23.
GTS Managing Director Frank Jungmann said the company was in talks with the yard.
The Managing Director of Lindenau Shipyard, Dieter Kuhne, said he was confident that a solution would be found soon and that the vessel would be delivered shortly.
