Greek transportation company Eletson Gas has reportedly placed an order for two ethylene carriers with Chinese shipbuilder Sinopacific Offshore and Engineering.
According to Asiasis, the 22,000m3 vessel newbuildings are an exercise of options following on from a previous three-vessel order, with the five vessels expected to be delivered by 2016.
The order marks a period of aggressive vessel ordering from the Greek company, with Asiasis noting a previous order placed with Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Mipo Dockyard for five 12,000m3 ethylene carriers.
