Danaos Corporation, Greece, has announced the delivery of its latest containership, the 'CMA CGM Moliere', expanding its operational fleet to a total of 42 vessels.

The recent delivery brings the total fleet capacity to 172,433TEU.

The 'CMA CGM Moliere' has a carrying capacity of 6,500TEU and was built at Sungdong Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering.

She is 300 metres long on a beam of 40 metres and has a maximum speed of 25.6 knots.

"The vessel is chartered at an accretive fixed charter rate [to CMA CGM] which provides Danaos with an effective hedge against market charter rate volatility," Dr Coustas, Danaos CEO, claimed.

"We now own and operate a fleet of 42 containerships which provides Danaos with strong cash flows to further support our growth," he said.
