A steel cutting ceremony was recently held for the first of three infield support vessels (ISVs) under construction for Australian marine services provider KT Maritime Services.
Once delivered and put into operation, the ISVs will support Shell's 'Prelude FLNG' project near Broome, Western Australia.
The vessels are under construction at a Singapore shipyard of partner company, ASL Shipyard.
The three vessels will measure 42 metres in length and will have bollard pulls of 100 tonnes. They will operate at the Prelude site situated 475 kilometres offshore from Western Australia.
The ISVs will be tasked with servicing Prelude's LNG, LPG and condensate export activities, as well as forming an integral part of the facility's emergency response and evacuation requirements.
