A new ship building base that can dock vessels over 10,000DWT is currently under construction at Suixi County, Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province, China.
Part of the projects will be ready for operation by September this year. The shipbuilding base is located near Jialong Windproof Port, Suixi County, which is under the jurisdiction of Zhanjiang (port) City in South China.
Its leading investor is Zhanjiang Huanan Vessel Trading Service Co.
Upfront investment reaches RMB 52.8 million yuan (US$8.2 million) and the total investment is expected to exceed RMB 200 million yuan ($1.5 million).
A 200-meterfishing port and an all-weather lift line are nearly complete and will be put into operation in September. A deep-water port, about 200 meters long, which can berth ships over 10,000DWT and a matching dock will be finished in September 2017.
Upon completion, this shipbuilding base will provide services to vessels using Zhanjiang Port as well as ferries sailing in the Qiongzhou Strait that connects Hainan Island to Guangdong Province.
