Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding and Golar LNG have signed a contract for the conversion of a large LNG floating storage regasification unit (LNG-FSRU).
Under the CNY 220 million (US$32 million) contract, the two companies will convert a 14-year-old 140,000-cubic-metre LNG carrier into an LNG-FSRU.
The conversion is expected be carried out over a period of 20 months.
Upon completion, the FSRU will be deployed in the Northern Adriatic Sea offshore Krk Island in Croatia.
