Singapore-based First Ship Lease Trust (FSL) has agreed to sell the product tanker Speciality following the end of its charter to James Fisher. The disposal will leave the shipowner with a fleet of five vessels.

FSL’s wholly owned subsidiary FSL-14 has entered into a memorandum of agreement with an unaffiliated third party, which has lodged a 10 per cent deposit in escrow. The trust’s manager said further details would be disclosed upon completion of the disposal.

The 2006-built Speciality has a deadweight tonnage of 4,426 and had been employed under a bareboat charter.

FSL said the vessel was redelivered to the trust on May 8, 2026, and proceeded to a shipyard for dry-docking.

FSL’s portfolio comprised six vessels at June 30, with Speciality still included in its interim financial statements. The owner’s current fleet list names Pelican Fisher, Shannon Fisher, Solway Fisher, Seniority and Superiority.

FSL had agreed in late December 2025 to extend the charters of Speciality, Seniority and Superiority with James Fisher Everard as part of a wider agreement covering five vessels.

The three tankers received new charter terms of five months to four years. Under the deal, termination options on the charters of Shannon Fisher and Solway Fisher were taken out, leaving both fixed in employment into 2029.

FSL said the combined charter talks secured $12.3 million in future revenue under contract.
