TeamCo Shipyard in the Netherlands has delivered the new inland bunker tanker Falcon to Belgian owner Graven Barges Services.

The turnkey vessel will be chartered by UniBarge for bunkering in the Amsterdam–Rotterdam–Antwerp area.

RensenDriessen Shipbuilding designed the tanker and supplied the hull, and TeamCo carried out the outfitting.

The type C tanker has a length of 135 metres, a beam of 17.5 metres, and a cargo capacity of more than 8,600 tonnes. She is prepared for the future transport and delivery of methanol.

The cargo zone is divided into 12 tanks, six to port and six to starboard. Each pair of tanks is served by its own Bornemann pump.

A topcoating has been applied to the uppermost metre of each tank. Heating is provided by tank coils and a boiler with primary and secondary systems.

Propulsion comes from two Caterpillar 3512C main engines, each rated 1,118 kW. Manoeuvring is assisted by two Verhaar Omega bow thruster installations in the forward machinery space, each driven by a 393kW electric motor.

Two Caterpillar C18 engines meanwhile provide electrical power.
