Vietnam has received its largest vessel to date, with the docking of the 352-metre-long container vessel 'Albert Maersk', at the SP-PSA International Port in South Vietnam.
According to a statement from the port, handling the 'Albert Maersk' would provide a major stimulus to the maritime economy.
In order to receive the 'Albert Maersk' the port was required to dredge the seabed; however, amidst the backdrop of an impending surge in exports arising from the Free Trade Agreements Hanoi has signed with various nations, the 'Albert Maersk's' docking constitutes a significant milestone in eventual cargo mobility.
'Albert Maersk's' arrival follows that of the 345-metre, 2,600-passenger 'Queen Mary II' cruise ship from Cunard Line on February 10.
