Baird Maritime

China: The Shanghai LNG terminal received its first shipment of LNG cargo on October 11.

The first shipment of 45,000 cubic metres of LNG arrived on the 88,000 cubic metre LNG carrier, 'Arctic Spirit', which arrived from Bintulu, Malaysia. A second shipment is expected before the end of this month.

China has two other LNG terminals: the Depend LNG terminal is a 6.2 million tonne per year facility in the southern Guangdong Province while the Fujian terminal, which began operations earlier this year, has a 2.6 million tonne per year capacity. There are plans to expand the facility to accommodate 5.2 million tonnes per year.
