Scotland's Greenock Cruise Port joins Global Ports Holding network

Baird Maritime

Cruise port operator Global Ports Holding (GPH) has entered into a 50-year agreement with Clydeport Operations, a subsidiary of UK's Peel Ports Group, to operate Greenock Cruise Port.

This agreement marks GPH’s entry into Scotland and further expands its presence in the UK.

Under the lease agreement GPH will operate Greenock Cruise Port, which serves as a gateway to Scotland, Northern Europe and the Baltic regions.

Strategically located on the banks of the River Clyde, the port offers both road and rail links to Glasgow and Edinburgh.

GPH said that, as one of the UK’s leading cruise hubs, Greenock Cruise Port can accommodate some the largest cruise ships in the world and boasts facilities for both homeport and transit operations.

Greenock Cruise Port welcomed more than 80 cruise calls in 2024. GPH expects the numbers to continue to rise further in 2025 and 2026.

GPH's current network includes over 30 cruise ports around the world.
