DP World, UAE Region, has recorded a new vessel productivity benchmark when its cranes hit a record of 259 berth moves per hour while servicing a container ship at its flagship Jebel Ali Port in Dubai recently.
A total of 11,722TEUs were handled within 28 working hours, beating previous productivity benchmarks. The record was set during the recent port call of the 349-metre long MSC ship 'Madeleine'.
Earlier this year Jebel Ali became one of the world's first major container terminals to integrate, through the Rostima LMS system, an all-inclusive manpower management system with the high-end technology that runs its operations.
