United Kingdom: Severe weather in the East Anglian region of the UK has caused the nation's largest container port, Felixstowe, to close.
With the weather worsening as the week progressed and overnight temperatures dropping to -10c, landside operations were already restricted to export drops only.
Heavy snow and ice within the container stacks has forced the port to temporarily cease all operations, with the possibility of a limited operation resuming later on December 7.
Media reports have indicated that UK retailers are worried about the supply chain in the lead up to Christmas, and that just-in-time deliveries will not make the shelves in time.
