Da Chan Bay Terminal One hosts a local seminar

Baird Maritime

China's Da Chan Bay Terminal One has hosted a business seminar in Shunde in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong.

The event attracted more than 150 visitors and over 50 manufactures from Shunde as well as customs brokers, freight forwarders, barge companies and local terminal operator representatives from Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Shunde.

Since the commencement of barge services in early 2008, Da Chan Bay Terminal One has established a barge network covering the whole of the Pearl River Delta, including Foshan, Shunde, Zhongshan, Zhuhai and Guangzhou.

Da Chan Bay Terminal is a relatively new international container terminal serving the Pan-Pearl River Delta. It is situated on a site measuring 112 hectares with five berths. The terminal commenced operation with its first three berths in late 2007 and 2008, respectively. The other two berths will be put into operation earlier this year. Its quay depth of 15.5 metres will eventually be dredged to 18 metres.
