The Port of Chenglinji, near Yueyang City, in China's Hunan Province, has completed the first phase of construction at the Songyang Lake Terminal which will give it an annual capacity of 300,000TEU.

Yueyang Chenglingji Port is one of eight "first class" harbours along the Yangtze, and it is the only one of its kind in the Hunan Province. It has been consistently ranked as one of the top 53 ports in China since 2004.

The port plans to build three berths which will be completed in three phases. The first has been completed with an investment of US$95 million and covers an area of 597.8 acres. Furthermore, three 3,000-tonne deepwater berths, each with an annual capacity of 300,000TEU have been finished.
