BMT WBM (BMT), a subsidiary of design, environmental and engineering consultancy BMT Group has announced a six-year contract to provide all environmental monitoring services to the Port of Brisbane (PBPL).
BMT's services seek to address the primary aims of PBPL's environmental monitoring program, including assessment of the health and long term trends in the condition of the local environment to determine potential impacts to the port and surrounding marine habitats, and providing information that supports and informs port planning and management activities.
Monitoring to be undertaken by BMT includes sediment sampling and analysis, water quality, dredge turbidity, groundwater, mangrove health, sea grass health, and seawall flora and fauna.
