Seanergy takes delivery of Capesize and Supramax vessels

Seanergy Maritime has taken delivery of the 170,057DWT Capesize dry bulk vessel 'Geniuship' and the 56,884DWT Supramax 'Guardianship'. The vessels, which were built by CSC Jingling Shipyard in 2010 and 2011 respectively, will be employed in the spot market.

The two vessels are the third and fourth of seven secondhand dry bulk vessels that the company has agreed to purchase for a gross price of US$183 million. The acquisition of the remaining three vessels is expected to be completed by November 30.

After the acquisition of the remaining vessels, Seanergy will have a fleet of a total of eight dry bulk carriers, six Capesizes and two Supramaxes. The company will have a combined cargo-carrying capacity of approximately 1,145,553DWT and an average fleet age of about 7.1 years.
