Global project cargo operator, Scan-Trans, has entered into a strategic alliance to combine the two companies' commodity base cargoes with project part cargoes.
Scan-Trans will act as the commercial manager for the Oslo Bulk fleet and the intention is to use the strength of both companies to expand this venture with more vessels.
Scan-Trans has a fleet of some 25 multipurpose tweendeckers geared up to 500 tonnes. The Scan-Trans group consists of 13 global offices.
Oslo Bulk Shipping has a series of eight 8,000DWT newbuildings on order at the Yangzijiang Shipyard in China. Another vessel was contracted in April 2010, taking the total orderbook to nine ships. The vessels are multipurpose single deckers, geared up to 50 tonnes. All vessels are scheduled for delivery beginning in August.
