Thecla Bodewes Shipyards in the Netherlands recently laid the keel of a new dry cargo vessel ordered by Faroe Islands-based Navigare Shipping.
Hav Leiti is the first in a new series of four 5,600DWT dry cargo vessels ordered by Navigare Shipping from the same builder.
Thecla Bodewes Shipyards said the series is designed to optimise fuel efficiency while ensuring maximum cargo capacity and operational versatility.
The vessels will each be equipped with a diesel-electric propulsion system comprising four generators and a fixed-pitch propeller housed in a nozzle, ensuring minimal fuel consumption and reduced emissions while delivering excellent manoeuvrability.
The vessels will comply with IMO Tier III emissions regulations and will be equipped with sewage treatment plants, as is required for ships operating in the Baltic Sea. Shore power charging connections will also be fitted.
Hav Leiti has been designed in-house by Thecla Bodewes Shipyards and is equipped with an advanced automation system, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and reliability during operations.
The vessel is scheduled to be delivered in the spring of 2026.
