Italian shipowner Visentini Giovanni Trasporti Fluviomarittimi has taken delivery of the 40,800DWT Handymax bulk carrier V Cinque from Chinese shipbuilder Dajin Heavy Industry.
The vessel, delivered on Monday, September 21, is the sister ship of V Aldo (pictured), which entered service in 2025. V Cinque was originally contracted for slightly less than US$30 million.
V Cinque was based on a latest-generation design developed by Shanghai Bestway Marine Engineering Design. Alessandro Visentini, son of company owner Giovanni Visentini, said that the ship’s hull form and cargo spaces had been optimised to provide high cargo capacity and versatility within the Handymax segment.
V Aldo was delivered in September 2025 after being acquired for just under $29 million. It was assigned to a two-year charter with Intermarine.
Visentini has also exercised options for a third 40,000DWT bulker to be built by Dajin Heavy Industry.
Following its investment in dry bulk shipping, Visentini plans to focus on Ro-Ro vessels and ships for special cargoes.
