Diana Shipping to sell Panamax bulker for $11.8m

Alan Bosworth

Dry bulk owner Diana Shipping announced on June 17 that it has signed an agreement to sell the 2010-built Panamax vessel Selina.

The ship will be sold to an unaffiliated third party for approximately $11.8 million before commissions. Delivery of the vessel to the buyer is scheduled to take place no later than August 15, 2025.

Following the completion of the sale, Diana Shipping’s fleet will consist of 36 dry bulk vessels, comprising four Newcastlemax, eight Capesize, four Post-Panamax, six Kamsarmax, five Panamax, and nine ultramax vessels.

The company also expects to take delivery of two new-build methanol dual-fuel Kamsarmax vessels, with one scheduled for delivery by the second half of 2027 and the other by the first half of 2028.

As of today, the combined carrying capacity of the company’s current fleet, including the Selina, is approximately 4.1 million DWT.

Diana Shipping’s vessels are primarily employed on short to medium-term time charters to transport cargoes such as iron ore, coal, and grain along worldwide shipping routes.
