Diana Shipping has entered into a time charter contract with Aquavita International for the Kamsarmax dry bulk vessel Astarte, brokered through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary.
The charter carries a gross rate of $17,000 per day minus a 4.75 per cent commission paid to third parties, running from a minimum of September 1, 2027 to a maximum of November 15, 2027.
Diana Shipping expects the charter to commence on September 20, 2026, generating approximately $5.81 million in gross revenue over the minimum scheduled duration.
The 2013-built vessel, which has a capacity of 81,513 DWT, is currently chartered to Propel Shipping at a gross rate of $12,500 per day minus a five per cent third-party commission.
The company's fleet currently includes 36 dry bulk vessels. Excluding two new-building Kamsarmax dry bulk vessels scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2027 and the first half of 2028, the fleet maintains a combined carrying capacity of approximately 4.1 million DWT with a weighted average age of 12.81 years.
