Russia's Fesco Transportation Group has expanded its Fesco Intra Asia Service (FIAS) between Vietnam and Malaysia with the addition of the Port of Pasir Gudang in Johor to the current network.
FIAS now encompasses the route Ho Chi Minh City – Port Klang – Pasir Gudang – Ho Chi Minh City. This will be served by a container vessel with a capacity of 400 TEUs.
Pasir Gudang is one of the largest ports in Malaysia and is located near the country's border with Singapore.
The first voyage on the expanded route saw cargo transported from Pasir Gudang to Russia via Fesco's hub in Ho Chi Minh City as well as between the two Malaysian ports.
Fesco said that the FIAS will be further expanded in the future to also include calls in Thailand. The company is also considering the possibility of deploying an additional vessel to operate alongside the current one on the expanded route.
