Italian military underwater vehicle manufacturer CABI Cattaneo has unveiled its newest swimmer delivery vehicle (SDV).
Named Deep Shadow, the nine- by 1.45-metre SDV has a crew of two pilots and accommodations for four fully equipped combat divers. It can be deployed from either a submarine or a surface platform.
The vehicle's modular design enables it to carry various combinations of payloads for multiple mission requirements.
The SDV's shape and the material used in its construction give it a low profile, hence minimising the risk of detection.
