During the launching ceremony of the future minehunter Rybitwa, the Polish Armaments Group, its subsidiary PGZ Stocznia Wojenna, and the Research and Development Centre of Maritime Technology concluded an agreement with Remontowa Shipbuilding regarding cooperation on the export of Kormoran II-class vessels.
"Kormorans are the most numerous ship series that our industry has been building since the Project 207 minesweepers," said Jan Grabowski, member of the management board of PGZ.
"We know from the Polish Navy that it is good equipment and we want other naval forces to also have the opportunity to serve on ships that are the result of the work of Polish shipbuilding thought.
"These ships are an excellent example of cooperation between the state and private industries and I am glad that we will continue this partnership to gain export markets."
The Kormoran II-class was designed to carry out a number of tasks in the field of mine warfare, including search, identification, classification and destruction of sea mines, and to guide vessels through mined areas, lay mines, and act as a platform for the remote control of self-propelled mine countermeasures platforms.
