Seven people were injured after a boat carrying Indian tourists capsized off Krabi province in southern Thailand on Saturday, August 15.
The unidentified vessel was transporting 10 passengers when it overturned near Laem Hang Nak in Krabi's Muang district on Saturday.
The 10 tourists, a guide, and the boat's operator were all safely rescued by the crew of the speedboat Sayang Tour. One person suffered a broken arm while six others sustained undisclosed minor injuries.
The rescued individuals were offloaded at a nearby beach. Those with injuries were later transported to hospital.
The boat was transporting the tourists to Krabi's Hong Island on a scheduled voyage.
According to initial reports, the boat lost balance and subsequently capsized after some of the passengers moved between seats while they were taking photographs.
A local resident said the waters just off Krabi were experiencing rough sea conditions at the time, which may have contributed to the boat becoming unstable.
Authorities have begun an investigation to identify the probable causes of the mishap.
