UK emergency response teams safely rescued two people who were on a fishing vessel that sank after crashing into rocks near Cornwall on Sunday, March 2.
The incident occurred shortly after 15:00 local time on Sunday when the unnamed vessel struck a rocky area at The Rumps near Polzeath and began to sink.
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution's (RNLI) Padstow station despatched a rescue boat to the area at around 15:38. The RNLI said its crew eventually arrived on scene to find the fishing vessel already partly submerged, though its two occupants had managed to get to safety on some nearby rocks.
The crew were then brought aboard the RNLI boat, where volunteers checked them for any medical issues.
HM Coastguard personnel from Polzeath also participated in the rescue effort.
The Padstow RNLI boat later took the fishing vessel crew safely into Padstow Harbour, where they were met by their waiting family.
An HM Coastguard official has advised the public to exercise caution when in the area due to the presence of debris.
No information has yet been provided on whether the incident resulted in any pollution.
